Visitor Information
St. John’s offers an extensive tour program for visitors. As the second oldest church of English origin in Canada, as well as a Canadian National Historic Site, St. John’s is recognized as one of North America’s best examples of Carpenter Gothic architecture. Following a major fire in 2001, St. John’s has been fully restored and was re-opened in June of 2005.
Daily tours start in June and run through until the beginning of September. During this time, the church will be open from 11 am until 7 pm. During the months of May, September and up until Thanksgiving, the church is open on holidays and weekends from 12 noon to 4 pm. St. John’s welcomes groups to visit. If you have a group that would like a tour outside of these times please contact us to make arrangements.
Parish volunteers are needed to continue our tour program in the spring and fall season. If you would like to be part of this important outreach ministry please call George Munroe, who will be pleased to do some orientation and have you as part of the volunteer tour team.
